St. Mary Magdalene
Feast Day: July 22
Patroness of converts, women, penitents, contemplation and against sexual temptation
After St. Mary Magdalen was cleansed of demons by Jesus, she was a witness of the Crucifixion and burial of Jesus and was the first person to see Jesus after the Resurrection. After Jesus resurrected, St. Mary Magdalen gained an audience with the Emperor Tiberius of Rome. As she told the story, she held out an egg and proclaimed, “Christ is Risen!” The emperor said there was a greater chance of the egg turning red than a human returning to life. The egg quickly turned red.
